The new Permanent Exhibition at the Architekturzentrum Wien: Going against the current trend for increasing economic constraints on their collections, the new Permanent Exhibition of the Az W sets standards in the production and sharing of knowledge.

Once again the Az W is participating in the ORF nationwide event for museums, The Long Night of Museums. Night owls with an interest in architecture will not be disappointed this year, either!

Every two years the premier European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award, is presented to outstanding achievements in the European architecture sector. Prizes are awarded to projects whose innovative character provides orientation or even serves as a manifesto for the development of contemporary architecture.

With a total of 80,000 euros in prize money, the EU Mies Award is the premier European architecture prize. It is a seismograph for architectural developments in Europe and even for the inspirational capacity of the transformative potential of architecture.

Knut Wimberger introduces the Big Friendly Giants project, which heightens the environmental awareness of townies by exploring the local ecosystem and following routes past giant trees over 100 years old.

The future of building in a world threatened by catastrophic climate change is at the focus of the international symposium “Simply Build!”. A cooperation by the Az W with the IBA _Wien – Neues soziales Wohnen

As guests of the Architekturzentrum Wien Architecture Lounge, on 26. October admission is free for everybody interested in architecture. The exhibitions are open for you from 10–19h and a varied programme awaits.
