Under the title „HIMMELSKÖRPER“, Anna Artaker presents natural self-prints of meteorites from the collection of the neighbouring Natural History Museum that she has worked on in the Sternenpassage. As an artist, Artaker has long been working with the 19th century technique of nature self-printing, which is based on a direct print - in this case of polished meteorite discs about the size of a palm. The closeness of the imprint contrasts sharply with the unimaginably distant origin of the motif in terms of time and space: several meteorites that crashed to earth from outer space. Exposed on a black background and enlarged to the format of the light boxes, they appear like massive chunks of rock or props from a science fiction film from pre-digital times. In this way, Artaker examines the imaging processes that shape our perception of the universe - and at the same time shake it.
