The new Permanent Exhibition at the Architekturzentrum Wien: Going against the current trend for increasing economic constraints on their collections, the new Permanent Exhibition of the Az W sets standards in the production and sharing of knowledge.

In the courtyard of the Az W, places of remembrance of the anti-fascist resistance in the former Yugoslavia are brought to life in an augmented reality exhibition and the political, social and historical backgrounds are conveyed artistically.

The exhibition "Hollein Calling. Architectural Dialogues" explores the Hollein phenomenon from today's perspective. A dialogue with the positions of a younger generation of architects launches a reappraisal that brings Hollein's work back into the current discourse.

The opening provides an insight into the exhibition while engaging with pressing issues in the work of an emerging generation of young architects.

30 years ago, Elsa Prochazka developed a now iconic exhibition design for the Folklore Museum. Now the building is being renovated and the permanent exhibition redesigned. Before the exhibition is dismantled, the architect will give a tour of the exhibition and then discuss fundamental questions about dealing with collections with Matthias Beitl, director of the Folk Art Museum, and Monika Platzer, curator of the Az W exhibition collection "Hot Questions - Cold Storage".

Living is work, whether it is about eating, caring for oneself and others, or looking after the space. How is this household organised and what alternative models are there in the realms of architecture and urban planning? Where does food come from, how sustainable is this, and how equitably is care work distributed?

The Graz School, the Vorarlberger Baukünstler (Building Artists) and, more recently, the Burgenland Brutalists have entered the Austrian canon as independent movements. Where does this leave Upper Austria in the national awareness?
