The Good Life for the 99 % — What Can Architecture Contribute to a Fairer World?

How can cities be made fairer, more environmentally friendly and better to live in — for everybody, and not just for the few? In a time dominated by austerity, privatisation and social inequality, the question of the contribution that architecture makes to society is more pressing than ever. This event is dedicated to the role of architecture and urban planning in the struggle for distributive justice in the 21st century.

How can we redistribute abundance? What architectural strategies can counter global capital while also being environmentally friendly and socially and aesthetically effective? How can planning processes be democratised? And what might a "post-growth city" look like? A diverse panel of representatives from civil society, urban development and architecture invites you to join in the search for answers to the big questions of our time — and for concrete ways to achieve a good life for the 99%.
