Gaining tools for self-massage – release stress, feel relaxed and balanced.
Participants will be guided through self-massage techniques and stretches to release stress and feel relaxed. Influenced by Japanese Shiatsu massage, using pressure with fingers and palms to contact the meridians (energy pathways in our body), to encourage the natural flow of energy in the body. Greater rejuvenation will be expressed through movement that connects to the 5 elements in nature (Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, and Fire) and emphasise qualities of healing in our body such as – grounding, breath, fluidity, growth, and compassion. Since Covid-19 our need for healing both physically and emotionally is greater than ever and this class will give participants tools to find a more calming sense of balance.

Please bring a mat and/or towel/pillow to sit on.

Public Moves dance classes take place outdoors every day – international and local instructors share their knowledge of everything from jazz and Bollywood dance to waacking in free outdoor classes. No previous experience is necessary, and all ages and levels are welcome!

Registration begins one day before the course starts at 11:00 a.m. via the calendar or by telephone on +43.1.523 55 58-19. If a class is ‘fully booked’, there is still the possibility of securing a remaining place on site. It's worth dropping by!

Biography

Ori Flomin is a dance artist based in New York City who began his journey as a dancer, building an international career as a performer and touring artist. As he navigated the physical demands of dance, he sought holistic approaches to sustain his body and mind, which led him to the transformative practices of yoga and Shiatsu. This discovery deepened his understanding of the body-mind-spirit connection, shaping a path he has followed for over 25 years.

Ori completed his Shiatsu training at the Ohashi Institute in New York City in 2001 and earned his yoga teaching certification from Bhava Yoga in 2003. Since then, he has taught dance, yoga, and Shiatsu worldwide at renowned dance schools, professional companies, and international festivals, including ImPulsTanz (Austria), Sasha Waltz Company (Germany), Cullberg Ballet (Sweden), P.A.R.T.S. (Belgium), TicTac Arts Centre (Belgium), London Contemporary School of Dance (United Kingdom), Chunky Moves (Australia), and in the U.S.A., as a guest teacher at institutions such as Princeton University, Rutgers, SUNY Purchase, The New School, Barnard College, and Sarah Lawrence, to name a few. He is currently an adjunct professor at NYU Tisch, where he also earned his MFA in Dance in 2020.

Honouring the wisdom and guidance of his teachers, Ori continues to evolve his teaching through ongoing study and personal growth. In response to the rising stress and anxiety following the COVID-19 pandemic, his work has increasingly focused on self-care and the mind-body connection, helping individuals find emotional and physical balance. His movement and Shiatsu workshops have been widely embraced internationally, with successful presentations both in person and online.

At ImPulsTanz, Ori shares his unique fusion of movement, healing, and somatic awareness, inviting participants to reconnect with their bodies, release tension, and promote inner harmony.
