Public Moves: A Dance for 100 Ways to Stumble
with Lau Lukkarila
Sun 27.07., 18.45h l MQ Forecourt l Free entry
In this class you could move like you “always do” – habits stitched into thoughts and muscles – or you could also move in ways you haven’t yet tried. If you tend to be nice and soft, a body making room for everyone else – what if you let rowdiness bloom in your chest and your breath stretch shamelessly? If you tend to rush in loud taking up space like a fire—what if you let yourself go quieter and receive stillness prickling your skin? Accompanied by music spanning various decades and genres, this class begins with warm-up and shaking loose hesitations, followed by solo stumbles, duos and group improvisation. Come raw. Come ready.
Public Moves dance classes take place outdoors every day – international and local instructors share their knowledge of everything from jazz and Bollywood dance to waacking in free outdoor classes. No previous experience is necessary, and all ages and levels are welcome!
Registration begins one day before the course starts at 11:00 a.m. via the calendar or by telephone on +43.1.523 55 58-19. If a class is ‘fully booked’, there is still the possibility of securing a remaining place on site. It's worth dropping by!
