The exhibition NOWHERE is a project by artists Alisa Gvozdeva, Mikhail Dobrovolsky and Palina Rukavichkina. All three were participants in the MQ Artist-in-Residence Programme during the year 2025. The exhibition explores the question of what it means to work artistically under conditions of uprooting, migration, and silence.

NOWHERE also refers to the cultural situation in the artists' countries of origin, Belarus and Russia, where freedom of artistic expression often only exists “nowhere” – or in the fleeting, fragile spaces of the “here and now”.

The project is being realised in cooperation with and with the support of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (Artists Solidarity Programme Europe – ASoP).
