MQ Artist-in-Residence Ausstellung: Artistic Gathering

On this evening, artist Martin Markeli not only offers a glimpse into his studio, but also allows visitors to actively engage with his installations. Martin Markeli was influenced by the era when model car racing tracks became popular in the affluent society of the 1970s, with cars serving as status symbols for young and old alike. The racetrack thus serves as a projection surface for the perception of a society focused on speed and competition. The artist picks up on these aspects in his object staging. He presents them in a landscape with fast cars and various symbolic figures from the consumer world. The artistic exploration takes place in the scene or arena of car racing. All of the viewer's senses are meant to be stimulated. The focus is on the interaction between the artwork and the audience, which is created through a playful approach.
