On August 26, the motto at the MQ is once again: “If you don't know anything, you have to eat everything”! To mark the 70th anniversary of Kelly's, the Land schafft Leben live podcast is all about the potato. In conversation with host Hannes Royer, young potato farmer Georg Rath provides exciting insights into cultivation, the challenges in the field and the importance of regionality. He explains how he cultivates and markets his potatoes - and why direct contact with consumers is so important to him. An authentic conversation about agriculture, responsibility and the journey of our food. "It makes us proud that around 95 farms deliver around 27,000 tons of the best potatoes from the Absdorf, Hollabrunn, Tullnerfeld, Korneuburg, Mistelbach, Marchfeld and Seewinkel regions to our plant in the adjacent 22nd district of Vienna every year. This is a prime example of Austrian added value, which means that a packet of Kelly's potato chips really is 100% ‘Made in Austria’," explains Markus Marek, Managing Director Kelly. In addition to Austrian potatoes, Kelly also only uses salt from the local Alps for its snacks. Around 1,100 tons of the white gold are used in moderation every year to refine the crispy treats.
