Opening: Wed, 21.05. 2025, 19h l Typopassage
Exhibition duration: May – November 2025
Typopassage deals with the relationship between form and content. For the exhibitions, designers work together with authors.
Emilia Mékok is a medical student with Polish-Cameroonian roots. Born in Germany and living in Vienna for over five years, she is an alumna of the START scholarship program for committed students with a history of migration. In addition to her work in everyday clinical practice, she finds expression in prose, poetry and music - including on the stages of the poetry slam scene and in improvisational music. She is particularly interested in women's health and emancipation, medical anthropology and ethnomedicine as well as the interfaces between medicine, philosophy and art. In her texts, she addresses topics such as the relationship between doctors and patients, the female body in subjective and social perception, illness and death, the multi-layered nature of racism and the interaction between humans and their (natural) environment.
Alexandra Möllner lives and works as a designer in Vienna. Her focus is on graphic formats and book design. The focus of her working method is on collaborative practice, which consciously concentrates on working together with other designers - as a design method as well as an expression of an attitude that focuses on exchange, visibility and shared knowledge and places collective authorship at the center. She studied at the New Design University St. Pölten and at the University of Art and Design Linz and has been a recurring lecturer at the University of Art and Design since 2021. Her work has won several awards, including “Austria's Most Beautiful Books” and “100 Best Posters”. In 2024, she received the START scholarship for design from the BMKÖS for the project "Wiener Wildpflanzenatlas. Reference book for wild herbs - wild vegetables - wild fruit. An attempt at an artistic encyclopedia".
