Drawing is, for Christian Schwarzwald, both the origin of cultural expression and a field of experimentation – a fundamental language, older than words, that makes emotions and thoughts immediately visible. In the MQ Art Box, he transforms this medium into a spatial installation: faces made of dots and lines become codes that oscillate between emotion, abstraction, and digital communication. The title AIDIOTS in C refers to the flaws of artificial intelligence, whose supposedly realistic images tip into the absurd. In doing so, Schwarzwald creates an allegory of the visual expression of our time.

Christian Schwarzwald (1971, Salzburg) is an artist and professor of graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. He lives in Vienna and Berlin.
