The installation "Doom Mood" at ASIFAKEIL is dedicated to the animated short film "Doom Cruise".
In the 16-minute film by MQ Artist-in-Residence Hannah Stragholz and Simon Steinhorst, a cruise ship steers through a dissolving world. With no ports or land, it drifts aimlessly as resources like food, fuel and electricity grow scarce. Everyone onboard knows that the ship will soon go down. Images of icebergs, sinking ships, endless hallways and eerie sea shanties indicate the approaching end. What to do when the moment of the last farewell has come?
