Opening: Thu, Mar 5, 19:00

In photo sequences, installations, drawings, sculptures, projections and media hybrids, Liddy Scheffknecht examines the relationship between temporality, perception and space. At Schauraum in the MuseumsQuartier the glass fronts are covered by a large-scale drawing of an exhibition room. Thus, the exhibition shifts from the actual display area to a pictorial space. The imaginary exhibits contained therein are completed by a video projection and a moving element: a figurative shadow, the source of which seems to be located in the showroom. Still and moving images, drawings and film blend into a medial hybrid.

Liddy Scheffknecht lives and works in Vienna. Her works have been exhibited in numerous individual and group presentations, among them Georg Kargl Fine Arts Vienna, Galerie Lisi Hämmerle Bregenz, Kunstmuseum Appenzell, Kapellhaus Baku, Albertina Vienna, C/O Berlin, Austrian Culture Forum Warsaw, CSULA Fine Arts Gallery Los Angeles, 4. Sinop Biennial, Kulturpolis Klaipéda, Kunsthaus Graz, Art Point Donetsk, Edith-Russ-Haus für Medienkunst Oldenburg, Tokyo Wonder Site Hongo, 2nd Moscow International Biennale for Young Artists, Biennale of Young Artists of Europe and the Mediterranean, Skopje.
