In this post mortem of “LIGHTFIELD” we take a look back on how the project came to be and all the ups and downs along the way, plus all the things we learned (the things no one tells you about in the first place). The game was recently released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One after about two years of full production, but it all started as a small weekend project even longer ago. Our journey took us from the first very crude prototypes to larger prototypes, applying for and receiving public funding, buying a coffee machine, founding a company and to finally finishing the game half a year behind our initial schedule. We’ll also take a look back at the ups and downs of the launch, what went right what went wrong, and where we might want to go next.
