Musical Fiction without Science
How can one free oneself of one’s own body? Can one leave it – for a while? How long can one be out of oneself without losing everything?
\"Tales of the Bodiless\" investigates a condition that is hard to imagine: a world without human bodies. This journey into an uncertain future covers four situations, in which people are no longer at the centre. Four worlds in which bodies lose themselves in very different ways, metamorphose into foam or bog, become one with the landscape, decay into coloured dust. With dynamic compositions of sound, light, space and voices, Eszter Salamon opens a complex cosmos of tangible sensuality, in which hearing overlaps with seeing and well-known apocalyptic visions merge with new ideas. In the science-fiction musical by the Hungarian choreographer, the audience becomes the last \"embodied\" observers of a world in which sense and perception are penetrated with reflection and analysis in order to allow the theatre to emerge again as a space in which we are confronted with the possible and the impossible.
