What exactly happens when innumerable water molecules condense as ice is a mystery. It is a temperature zone dominated by fragility that Christoph Marthaler wants to expose himself to when going to Greenland with Anna Viebrock and a few actors to devise a theatre project. If the ice cover of Greenland begins to thaw, the island will rise while other places on our planet will be submerged by water. All administrative officials in Greenland are also hunters and fishermen. Greenland is the country with the world\'s highest suicide rate. Christoph Marthaler and his ensemble know next to nothing about Greenland, the Inuit culture or the hazards it is exposed to. Of course, they will try to obtain information, study maps, read fairytales, travelogues and anecdotes. But how much does this weigh against the fact that the visitors from Central Europe have so far spent little time on the island? Nothing, nothing at all. With their expectations and anxieties, they resemble the three symbols they have chosen as the title of their endeavour, aware that the ice they will step on is thin indeed. Their tale will be about the impossibility of arriving. Together with artists from Nuuk and Kangerlussuaq, they will undertake short radial walks in this icy territory, hunting and gathering pieces of a puzzle that do not fit together.
