Tanzquartier Wien Performance: 100+1=1+100
Re-enactment of the performance STO by Tomislav Gotovac

\r\n

The reconstruction of this action serves as the point of departure for the performance by Croatian director Oliver Frljic, which is having its world premiere in Vienna. Somewhere between original, copy, and censorship, this work explores the potential hidden in the act of departing from social rules and norms or rendering them ineffective.

\r\n

STO was a sound performance realized by the charismatic performer and filmmaker Tomislav Gotovac in Zagreb in 1979. In the first part of the performance Gotovac instructed and conducted 100 whistling people, and in the second part these 100 people then reversed roles and took over the direction of the performance. At the end, Gotovac stripped naked.
Tomislav Gotovac will be present in Vienna.
