Rati Tsiteladze is European Film Academy Award nominated filmmaker.
He is an alumnus of TIFF Filmmaker Lab, Locarno Academy, Berlinale Talent Project Market and Cannes Cinéfondation.
Rati directed and produced several short films that won over 50 awards worldwide and screened at more than 300 festivals, including Hong Kong, Melbourne and Locarno.
His recent work PRISONER OF SOCIETY (2018) won numerous Oscar® qualifying awards and was nominated for European Film Academy.
With his feature film project, BLUE NIGHTS he was selected among 6 directors at Cannes Cinéfondation Residence and won the Eurimages Award at TIFF, and the first HFPA/Film Independent Award by Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Golden Globes®.

Project info

I am planning to work on a follow-up project based on my previous short documentary PRISONER OF SOCIETY that is an intimate journey into the world and mind of a young transgender woman, who has been locked away from the outside world for the past decade.
The film won numerous awards and was nominated for European Film Academy Awards.

Georgian filmmaker Rati Tsiteladze won a two-month residency at Q21/MQ at 2019's this human world film festival. Due to the pandemic, his residency in the MuseumsQuartier had to be postponed - finally, he is now in Vienna and talked to Sabine Winkler about his filmic work on the occasion of Vienna Art Week 2021.
