November 2025 - December 2025Duduzile (DuduBloom) More is a 34-year-old visual artist from South Africa who specializes in printmaking. In her current work, she focuses on color, wool, and thread. Color reflects her surroundings and mood, while the tactile quality of wool connects her to both the physical world and her imagination—sparking curiosity and playful creativity.
Her work with children has had a profound influence on her artistic development. At the open art studio ArtJamming, she worked closely with children aged five to fifteen and witnessed how their creativity and humor filled the space with life. This experience inspired her interest in how creativity and play can not only foster children’s development but also serve as powerful means of communication.
As a South African artist in Vienna, DuduBloom looks forward to engaging in cultural exchange and exploring how children in Vienna experience and express creativity compared to those in South Africa. At the same time, she aims to share the rich history and creative spirit of her homeland, offering a positive and authentic perspective on South Africa and the African continent.
Play lies at the heart of her artistic practice. In earlier works, she created three-dimensional soft sculptures from colorful woolen discs, which she arranged intuitively in her studio—capturing moments of spontaneity, joy, and free expression. For her, play encourages exploration, self-discovery, and creativity—values she hopes to share with the children at the ZOOM Children’s Museum.
Duduzile (DuduBloom) More is a fellow of the “Focus International” program, which was launched in 2023 in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport (BMKÖS). The program invites young cultural practitioners from Kosovo (2023–2025) and South Africa (2025–2027) to Austria to complete two-month internships at selected art institutions in Vienna. The aim is to provide participants with valuable professional experience while also enriching the host institutions through their collaboration and perspectives.
During her residency at MQ Duduzile More will undertake an internship at the ZOOM Children’s Museum. She aims to learn how to design and facilitate workshops that encourage experimentation, creativity, and playful learning. Through this hands-on experience, she seeks to deepen her understanding of how art can serve both as an educational tool and as a form of personal expression—while fostering her own artistic and personal growth.
The connection between education and play that defines the ZOOM Children’s Museum resonates deeply with More’s belief that art is not confined to the studio but serves as a medium for communication, education, and community. Her residency offers her the opportunity to expand her understanding of creativity within educational and cross-cultural contexts, while contributing to a community that nurtures curiosity, exploration, and connection.
Ultimately, through her MQ residency, the artist hopes to inspire children to explore and express their own creativity, while continuing to deepen her artistic practice and understanding of art’s role in education. At the same time, she looks forward to being part of a global dialogue that connects and empowers communities through creative engagement.
