Projectinfo

I would like to continue my project "les grandes dames" where I started
researching about the rituals and significations of hairdos in different cultures (e.g. ancient japan.) It fascinates me that they may be seen as still lifes that give particular references! I am interested in symbolic acts that extent into our everyday life and that become visible in decorative arts and fashion. By looking at, and using these visual signs, I would like to explore further the transformation of the body within the image into a sculptural form. I am looking for images where the photographed person turns into a figure, and the figure turns into an object that may be looked at as pure arrangement: a still life.
