In December 2007 we took part in an artist in residence program at quartier21 in MuseumsQuartier Vienna. The one-month stay in Austria’s capital including a grant was awarded to us on the basis of an open call by the Österreichisches Kulturforum in Ljubljana. Our participation in the program was sponsored by the BMEIA. During one month at the artist in residence program we have realized the proposed project Shund, as well as some other video works. The opportunity to be able to work in an excellent studio enabled us to experiment with different ideas. Additionally we got to know other participants in the program, their artistic practice and attended several cultural events that took place in MuseumsQuartier as well as throughout Vienna. During our stay we established several contacts with artists and art professionals living and working in Vienna.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was a short, but creative and productive period, enriched by many new experiences. The excellent professional conditions and atmosphere of the city have inspired our work and we were delighted to meet people who enabled our stay in the program.
We hope to cooperate with quartier21 and Österreichisches Kulturforum again in the future.
