Tour: My View with Nada El-Azar-Chekh

EDUCATION, ART

@ Kunsthalle Wien @ Kunsthalle Wien

Nada El-Azar-Chekh guides you through the exhibition Rajkamal Kahlon. Which Side Are You On?.

We kindly ask you to register in advance at besucherservice@kunsthallewien.at or directly at the cash desk in Kunsthalle Wien Museumsquartier. The number of participants is limited.

"My View" is a program series in which experts, non-experts and interesting people are invited to present their personal view on the exhibition.

The guided tour costs € 8,- / € 3,- reduced.

When the "Other" strikes back: in Rajkamal Kahlon’s art, entrenched narratives of the "exotic" are upended, and the divide between researcher and the researched object – common practice in ethnographic, Western-based science – is dissolved and rearranged.

The title of the exhibition rightly asks "Which Side Are You On?". Nada El-Azar-Chekh, head editor in the culture department of biber magazine, will take you on a tour of the exhibition that will encourage you to rethink your own perspective. Because: nothing and no one is a blank piece of paper. Like American artist Rajkamal Kahlon, who does not paint on white canvases, we are all biased by what we have learned, by what is generally accepted as fact.
