In the fin de siècle, Vienna was a breeding ground for an unprecedentedly fertile intellectual life in art and science. The guided tour series, which takes place every first and third Friday of the month, focuses on special topics that reflect the achievements and special features of this era. Experience revealing and exciting insights and view the works from a completely new perspective.
The term “time” appears in many contexts of our everyday lives. We can measure and stop time, we can have it or not have it, we can even sleep through it or kill it. We can appreciate and enjoy time - but can we also see it? The visualization of time in art is a fascinating theme that runs through different eras and styles. Especially at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, which was characterized by many innovations and upheavals, images of the past, present and future collided.
