Speedshow Series S1E7: A Cybernetic Ritual
Installation by: Carolina Rivera Arboleda & Julius Anatol Biswurm (auditory elements)
Opening: Wed 08.05.2024, 19h
09.05. – 20.05.2024, Schauraum Angewandte

A Cybernetic Ritual by Carolina Rivera Arboleda confronts digital biases against women, aiming to cleanse harmful energies with a collective invocation of Maria Padilha. Rooted in Umbanda tradition, it merges ancient and modern practices to foster genuine connections and challenge gendered biases in the virtual realm. Through visual transitions, it emphasizes spiritual interconnectedness. Complemented by Julius Anatol Biswurm´s auditory elements and by the vocals of Brazilian singer Gabrielly Souza de Figueiredo, the ritual serves as an homage to healing and empowerment in cyberspace for women.
