Since their first work Farci.e, Sorour Darabi has been exploring the notion of transgression, with a particular focus on the potential of reappropriation. Reappropriation can bring to light what is masked by binary thinking: the hybrid myths hidden between left and right, man and woman, human and animal, good and bad, physical and spiritual, natural and industrial...

"Natural Drama" questions the concept of "nature" through the lens of contemporary environmental issues and from a historical and socio-political perspective, with all that implies for the body. It is a kind of futuristic mythology with its roots in dance traditions, both seen and hidden, preserved and lost. Sorour Darabi brings together several figures to question the representations and constructions of the so-called female body. We meet the American choreographer Isadora Duncan and her search for a dance inspired by the natural elements, and the Iranian princess Zahra Khanom Taj Saltaneh, artist, intellectual and pioneer of women’s rights in Iran, close to a current queer figure. Between these two personalities who work on the feminist question in different geographies, viewpoints and approaches, Sorour Darabi digs a third way to propose a new mythological being who could flourish in a future that makes room for vulnerability.
