SILENT WATERS
A projection installation by Lumine Projections

To mark World Water Day on 22 March, Lumine is presenting the projection installation “Stille Wasser” on the water basin at the MQ. The installation can be viewed on 22 and 23 March. Visitors can listen to the audio for the installation via livestream using their own mobile phones and headphones. A QR code on the edge of the water feature can be used to connect to a music stream.  

The work “Stille Wasser” references the element, plays with the material and highlights the dangers posed by environmental pollution. This strips the element of its taken-for-granted nature, gives it a voice and makes viewers aware of the sensuality of its appearance. The projection incorporates the natural refraction of light and the dynamics of the water in the water basin. Light reflections from the surroundings create a special connection to the location.
