During the ORF-Long Night of Museums, the MQ becomes a space for experiences: music, cuisine and art create a sensual atmosphere that invites visitors to linger and discover. The MuseumsQuartier Wien is one of the largest art and culture areas in the world. It combines historic buildings with contemporary architecture and stands for openness, diversity and social change – an urban space for everyone.

Austrian artist Thomas Feuerstein is showing his exhibition ‘METABOLICA’ in the MQ Freiraum. The cycle of works, which he has been working on since 2017, is being presented here in its entirety for the first time. Feuerstein transforms the space into a molecular factory: algae and their fatty acids are used to create new materials that are shaped into sculptures and then returned to the cycle. The exhibition combines art and science and opens up new perspectives on resources, the circular economy and models for the future of society.

Martin Markeli – Open Atelier
THE STASH beyond collectables | MQ Schauräume

Artist Martin Markeli gives an insight into his studio as part of ORF-Long Night of Museums.
He offers an immersive experience with his installations, engaging visitors not only visually but also actively. His work is influenced by the cultural trends of the 1970s, an era when model car racing tracks became a symbol of rising prosperity and the automobile was established as a status symbol. In his work, this racetrack becomes a metaphorical stage where societal themes such as speed, competition, and consumerism are reflected.
