Performance Passage. Space for Poetics of the In-between

A new visual composition by visual artist* and filmmaker* Philipp Fleischmann opens in the Performance Passage.

Fleischmann’s approach to the ‘lightbox keyboard’ focuses on the formal possibilities of the apparatus itself. The artist explores its material components, examines them, disassembles and then reassembles them. In other words, Fleischmann addresses the object directly – and we can look forward to discovering the new perspectives that will result from this. His conceptual skill lies in opening our eyes to the invisible behind the (spy) mirrors, creating a visual-abstract composition in the process.

"Performance Passage. Space for Poetics" of the In-between is a curatorial project by Andrea Maurer. The display comprises seven light boxes equipped with spy mirrors and time control, thus functioning like a visual organ. Each year, two artists are invited to compose a score with a focus on language-experimental positions. Each installation comes with an accompanying publication that can be purchased from the vending machine on site.
