Simplicity is the most underestimated of all musical qualities. And the songwriter, singer and pianist Martin Klein is a master of the underestimated.
So far he has released three German, one English and one experimental, electronic album. Singing and piano are the ingredients of Martin Klein's latest record, "Nachtlieder", on which he collects intimate songs about his grandfather, life as a musician, the Danube Canal and early mornings in Vienna. Growing up in Innsbruck, the singer-songwriter, who now lives in Vienna, is also a self-taught cellist and pianist. The unconventional artist has already attracted attention throughout the German-speaking world. Falter described him as "Thom Yorke without an art backpack" and Bayern 2 as a kind of "modern Franz Schubert", while the German specialist magazine Jazzthetik recognized his songs as "masterpieces lost in dreams".
