A Piece of Ground (39 min) explores land dispossession and spatial justice in Cape Town, South Africa. Through intertwined stories of displacement, inherited privilege, and contested belonging, the film asks: Who belongs in the city, and on whose terms?

Colonial spatial violence didn't end with apartheid - it evolved. The film examines how structures of exclusion persist and what repair might require today.

Followed by conversation with filmmaker Sesihle Manzini.

Sesihle Manzini ist eine südafrikanische Dokumentarfilmerin, deren Arbeit sich mit Land, Erinnerung und Gerechtigkeit auseinandersetzt. Ihre Filme werden international an Universitäten und kulturellen Einrichtungen, darunter das Wereldmuseum Amsterdam und das Goethe-Institut, als Dialoginstrumente eingesetzt.
