In the context of the exhibition "Guan Xiao: Teenager" we invite school pupils to a mathematical art talk. The exhibition by Beijing-based artist Guan Xiao presents a new series of sculptures focusing on the themes of transition, food and shelter. Guan Xiao's art plays with unusual combinations of objects, images and media, as well as anachronistic pairings of the ancient and the futuristic, the organic and the inorganic. Together with mathematicians and university professors Michael Drmota and Dirk Praetorius, art educator Michael Simku and the students, we will establish interdisciplinary connections and discuss how much mathematics is contained in the exhibits on display.

For school classes in grades 10 and 11.
