Around 1900, the need for a life in harmony with nature and spirituality grew. Inspired by theosophical ideas, spiritualism and the new forms of dance, artists conveyed a mystical attitude to life. The special exhibition Hidden Modernity. Fascination of the Occult around 1900 is dedicated to a chapter of Austrian and European cultural history that has received little attention to date.
