Always on the lookout for creative forms of expression, Liz Metta has intuitively immersed herself in the world of songwriting. After studying landscape architecture and participating in various music projects, Vienna-based songwriter, guitarist and singer Maria Elisabeth Thornton founded her solo project Liz Metta. For Liz Metta, music is both the result and an essential part of the process of finding one's own identity. In her compositions Liz Metta incorporates stylistic elements from Dream Pop, Alternative Rock, Indie Soul and Modern Psychedelia, always referring back to her starting point, songwriting with guitar. In this way, she creates a world of sound in which listeners can immerse themselves obliviously.

She has been performing under her stage name Liz Metta since 2020. Impressions of this could already be gained at various festival appearances, including Popfest, Poolbar Festival and Waves Vienna. Her EP Fragile & Strong was released on her own label in 2022 and the singles Vision and Fragile & Strong were played on FM4, Radio Wien, Ö1, 88.6, Byte.FM, among others. Liz Metta was nominated for The New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM 2023 / 24) as an artist in the genre Pop. Her debut album Introspection will be released on October 27, 2023 on Siluh Records and will be presented at the album release show on October 28 at Planetarium Vienna.
