Excursion: Studio Visits

Katharina Urbanek / studio urbanek and Michael Obrist / feld72 enter into a dialogue with partners from the Az W, to give a guided tour of the exhibition 'Tatiana Bilbao Estudio'. For Vienna Art Week, they are opening their office doors to the Architekturzentrum Wien and giving visitors an insight into their working methods.

Both offices share an interdisciplinary approach to their work with a focus on research, on housing issues and on the — social — conditions on site, “thinking the small in the big — and the big in the small.” (Katharina Urbanek) They also share the same office address: 72 Schottenfeldgasse is an early reinforced concrete building with an impressive spatial structures that has attracted multiple innovative architecture offices. To accommodate the growth of its office, feld72 acquired additional premises in a 1970s building in Josefstadt (1080 Vienna).
