Concert: Mia Zabelka Live

At the invitation of Agnes Fuchs, Mia Zabelka performs in the exhibition "Her Eyes Were Green". Situated between free improvisation with violin, experimental electronics and voice as well as with self-built sound bodies, Zabelka's artistic practice is characterised by moments of hybridisation. The multi-award-winning composer and musician explores sound and noise as physical phenomena, based on the possibilities of the principles of de- and reconstruction, compression, repetition and variation, and not least on collaboration with colleagues from interdisciplinary fields. The performance at mumok will be accompanied by a conversation between Mia Zabelka and Agnes Fuchs, moderated by Franz Thalmair.

Mia Zabelka studied counterpoint and harmony with Kurt Schwertsik as well as electroacoustic music with Dieter Kaufmann and composition with Roman Haubenstock-Ramati at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She has received numerous prizes and awards.
