DANCE/PERFORMANCE/MUSIC
Jeunesse: Carmina Burana & Boléro
Thu 12.11., 19.30h, Hall E
Have you thought about a frivolous love game today? Life offers many pleasures, even if the goddess of fate, Fortuna, knows how to interfere quite decisively in its course: Orff’s popular "Carmina Burana" tells of budding love and the highest passion, disappointment and rejection, as well as ruinous gambling, feasting and drinking. Ravel’s sensual "Boléro", in turn, with its rhythmically gripping and penetrating force that inevitably drives toward an orgiastic release, has often inspired rather obvious comparisons.
At the podium for this sensual evening of music with the RSO Wien is the young conductor Irene Delgado-Jiménez, trained in Barcelona and Vienna, who has already celebrated great successes at the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Theater an der Wien, and with the Neue Oper Wien, among others.
