In their new work "Burning Rubber", scheduled for completion in 2026, Navaridas & Deutinger focus on the sense of smell as a central dimension of human perception. Smells as invisible carriers and triggers of experiences, memories and emotions. Smells as assertions, as indisputable but transient presences. Smells as mobile, subtle and manipulative entities. Smelling as a sensual, emotional and social phenomenon. For the TQW "Open House", the two give a first small taste and sniff their way through the hidden corners of Hall G in a performative backstage tour. Like bloodhounds. On a leash. Always following their noses.
