Wed 15.05., 18-20h, Book presentation & discussion

An overview of Lower Austria's diverse architectural landscape is now available in book form, with 2,300 buildings and projects – organised by topography and sorted by type.

As part of a project lasting several years, Friedrich Achleitner’s unfinished research in Lower Austria has been continued by a team of authors methodically working through his archive at the Az W. This has enabled us to close the gap in the Austrian architectural landscape of the 20th century for the last federal state, Lower Austria.

Welcome address:
Angelika Fitz, Director of the Az W
Caroline Jäger-Klein, Architecture historian, Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien)
Hermann Dikowitsch, Head of the Lower Austrian department of art and culture (Abteilung Kunst und Kultur Niederösterreich)

Presentation & moderation:
Doris Grandits, Theresa Knosp, Editors

Discussion with:
Franziska Leeb, ORTE Lower Austria
Paul Mahringer, Austrian national heritage agency (Bundesdenkmalamt)
Monika Platzer, Head of the Collection, Curator Az W
Joachim Rössl, Forum Morgen Privatstiftung

A project in cooperative between the Architekturzentrum Wien, TU Wien and Forum Morgen Privatstiftung

Thanks to: Abteilung Kunst und Kultur Niederösterreich
