Action Day School Visits Museum: Burning Questions. We Are Looking for the Answers
Wed 04.03., Architekturzentrum Wien – Podium
What contribution can architecture make in the context of the climate crisis? How do we want to live in the future? And what impact does globalization have on our cities and villages? We explore the new permanent exhibition in search of answers. The housing policy of Red Vienna, for example, helped to radically improve living conditions, and subsidized housing continues to ensure that housing prices do not rise as quickly as in other European countries while also fostering innovative spatial solutions. Architecture makes a significant contribution to CO2 emissions. However, it can also generate energy. The "Case Study House," for instance, works with an algae bioreactor façade that not only protects against cold, heat, noise, and sun, but can also generate energy and absorb CO2 at the same time. Inspired by these ideas, you will develop your own projects in model form.
