MQ: Salon Zukunftskultur 2025 at the MuseumsQuartier

A collaboration between the MuseumsQuartier Vienna and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the 2025 Foreign Cultural Conference

On September 2, 2025, the MuseumsQuartier Wien, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA), invites you to the Salon Zukunftskultur (Salon Future Culture) at Arena21. The event will focus on the question of how art and culture can strengthen international cooperation in challenging times. Artists such as Inna Shevchenko, Vlada Lysenko, and Soli Kiani, as well as representatives of art institutions, will address this issue in discussion panels.

The event begins with a keynote speech by Inna Shevchenko, co-founder of the feminist movement FEMEN and writer from Ukraine. She will present her new film “Girls and Gods,” which explores the tension between feminism and religion. This will be followed by a discussion between cultural leaders and directors on international cooperation to strengthen women's rights and democracy, followed by an artistic intervention by poet and performance artist Kinga Tóth. In another discussion, filmmaker Kurdwin Ayub and artists from ASoP Europe will highlight the importance of solidarity with artists and cultural workers in times of upheaval.

Press conference:

At a press conference at 10:15 a.m., State Secretary Sepp Schellhorn will provide information on foreign policy priorities, and Bettina Leidl, Director of the MuseumsQuartier, will discuss current art and culture topics.
