Can you swim out of your skin? Can you swim in ice? Can you swim in injustice? Can you swim in a void? Can you swim out of the void? Can you swim? ... like shadows on the wall ... they swim ... what about you – can you swim?

My laces, recycled from all over the world, are combined into structures that are reminiscent of pre- and post-human organisms. "Sister Human" aims to use the language of patterns in nature to make visible the similarity between humans and the compact system and the world of bacteria.
The world of bacteria is our life pump – inside and outside of our body. Bacteria form the biome, which is also responsible for defining our characters, among other things. We humans swim between these two microbial worlds, and they swim both inside and outside of us.

Eva Petrič, born in Slovenia (1983), lives and works between New York City, Vienna and Ljubljana.
She works in the medium of photography, video, performance, installation, sound and literature. In the US Eva is represented by Galerie Mourlot, New York. She holds a BA in Psychology and Art and a Master of Fine Arts. Her work has been shown at over 70 solo and 118 group exhibitions worldwide, and has received numerous recognitions and prizes.
