Video in an endless loop, 2020

"Missing Piece" stages a puzzle from which a single piece is always missing, although the hole is constantly being closed. It stands for those of our needs that, even if they are constantly met, always remain unfulfilled. The work is based on a simple trick that creates an optical illusion while at the same time giving the audience an insight into what the illusion is based on. The deception is in the foreground over its explanation. Unlike a magic trick, this reveals the secret behind the deception, making the illusion even more magical.
