We are proud to invite the Sydney based artist NUMSKULL to work and live in Vienna for a Month. He will participate at the Artist-in-Residence program of quartier21 in March and rounds his stay off with an exhibition at PERFEKT BOX.
"BUST!" explores the artists' fascination of the human obsession with beauty and the everyday struggle to keep up appearance. He finds the oddity in human relationships and interaction. From the simplest of personality quirks to the boldest of personality statements. Numskull uses bold, colourful and abstract like forms to create statuesque like figures that project a composite idea of us as people and how we might see each other.

NUMSKULL:
Numskull is an Australian based artist, working out of Sydney in a variety of fields and mediums including painting, sculpture, illustration and large scale murals.
Over the past 15 years, Numskull has been leaving his mark and creating public work wherever he travels. From the early part of his career, his education came from Graffiti and Street Art and he continues to practice in and out of these rebellious fields, whilst also focussing his energy on traditional gallery work. Having grown up in the sleepy Northern suburbs of Sydney, everything Numskull uses in his practice is self taught.
Now showing constantly in galleries, his painting style has evolved from simple street work to complex, technical and reactive mixed media paintings and sculpture. His unique imagery has become a collage of study focussing on color hierarchy, typography, abstract heroism and idolism within modern contemporary culture.
He has shown in galleries, painted walls and sold paintings throughout the world in such places as London, New York, Tokyo, Paris, Singapore, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and all over Australia.
