The conference revolves around the debate of fashion as a cultural phenomenon at the intersection between different artistic, creative, economic, and everyday practices. Demarcations and overlaps, hierarchies and alignments will be discussed within the contexts of fashion, arts and styles regarding their material constitution and symbolic realization.

At the conference, international debates from diverse fields of research will be confronted. Aesthetics, economies and politics of fashion will be examined by researchers from different disciplines such as art history, cultural science, sociology, design and fashion studies.
