Is earth a mediaeval building material? How can one build with earth, and is it weatherproof in the first place? There are lots of questions to be asked about this material that architects and clients have started to make increasing use of in recent years. Our expert Barbara Winklehner has taken a look at how earth is used in Africa and shows us some of the exciting possibilities it offers. And then we mix earth, ram it and build with it.
