For the past 25 years an an almost weekly basis, Harderer has \"commented\" on - and ultimately influenced - the political, social, and cultural life of Austria with his ingeneous cartoons. Komische Künste is exhibiting the very best of these works in 500 m² at the MuseumsQuartier.

A representative catalogue with some 200 cartoons and additional texts will accompany the opening of this exhibition. Gerhard Haderer\'s cartoons are among the best of what this genre has to offer. \"Hades\" is celebrating his sixtieth birthaday in 2011. The end of this jubilee year is being accompanied by the to date largest exhibition of original works of this artist and uncompromising critic of Austria.

Haider is a grand master of the \"fine blade.\" His matchlessly and finely crafted drawings need no further comment - with the exception of noting that allusions frequently can be discovered in his illustrations that go beyond the primary material he portrays.

His cartoons of Franz Vranitzky, Thomas Klestil, Jörg Haider, Wolfgang Schüssel, Alfred Gusenbauer, Karl Heinz Grasser, and Wilhelm Molterer are already legendary and have become part of Austria\'s public mode of perception.
