decodeunicode – Die Schriftzeichen der Welt

Opening: Fri, Nov 11, 19:00
Date: Nov 12, 2011 to Mar 31, 2012, daily open 24 hours
Venue: Typopassage Wien, passage between MQ Main Courtyard an Courtyard 2

The publication \"decodeunicode - The World‘s Writing Systems\" by Johannes Bergerhausen and Siri Poarangan is a typographical journey through time, and around world: All existing - living as well as extinct - writing systems of humankind are presented on more than 650 pages. The book, which was published by one of the leading publishers for typography and and graphic design, Hermann Schmidt, is the result of a long-term research project at the Department for Communication Design, University of Applied Sciences, Mainz - and although released only earlier in 2011, a standard work already.

The Typopassage enables a lively approach to 109.242 existing graphical characters by displaying the book in unusual ways.
