the fault lines

Date: Fri, Feb 4 and Sat, Feb 5
Venue: MUMOK FACTORY
Austrian première

Two bodies that manipulate and let off again from each other. They overlap, are fascinated by each others vulnerability, and follow their own traces. the fault lines - fault lines and disruption zones of human encounter - are the place to which we repeatedly return and at which our bodies, meeting each other, face each other in their individuality.
Meg Stuart and Philipp Gehmacher, two of the most high-profile representatives of contemporary dance, developed their new work in collaboration with the fine artist Vladimir Miller. What starts as an intense encounter between two bodies, almost unnoticeably turns into a fascinating and uncanny video installation. In the opening up, roughened media spaces, the performers\' search for contact shows their very specific movement language - transient and gently, demanding but unconcerned. the fault lines is a game of shifting and interlocking and a detailed choreographic study of the emergence of touch.
