The Thrill of It All

Date: Dez 02 and 03, 20:30
Venue: Tanzquartier, Halle G
Austrian première

After Void Story, the animated graphic novel that Tanzquartier Wien showed as a preview in January 2009, Forced Entertainment is returning - this time with a bigger cast - with their new performance, The Thrill of it All , in TQW / Hall G.

The rehearsal process for this work catapults the company and its collaborators into the territory of raw songs, distorted voices and broken, extravagant dance. It is bright under the stage lights - and hot and frightening. On the bare stage a group of nine performers - wildly dancing girls and decrepit comedians - offer sentimental advice and disturbed parables against a muted piano accompaniment. A quartet of dancers whirl around, giggle, bicker and continually stray further and further from their objective: stories and, much more, questions short-circuited with gay, forlorn and strange dances.

The new work continues Forced Entertainment\'s work on the spectacle of the theatre and the contemporary world, by plumbing our way of living, breathing and narrating in the restricted space of late capitalism.
