Ride The Wave Dude - performance
Date: Nov 5 and Nov 6
Venue: Tanzquartier

Ride The Wave Dude is an apparatus for various choreographic and performative modes of production; a machinery that involves all the participants in developing, anticipated and unanticipated problems, which scrutinises the preconditions of production and approaches social inconsistencies from various directions. Regardless of the visible form the project assumes, it is not a question of sharing ideas or concepts but of the restrictions on freedom, the rejection of negotiation, the irrevocable activation of decisions and the analysis of a fundamental praxis of resistance, of an absence of probablities. In this sense, Ride the Wave Dude is an invitation to the actors as well as the audience to participate in the potentiality of risk of failure and to open themselves to various possibilities of expression, thought and structures. This is not a question of irritation or hopes, of dinner parties or medium-sized cities, but a question of tracking and production, of the discovery of new instruments and new forms of success.

Krõõt Juurak and Mårten Spångberg stage their public work processes at lively venues such as the foyer and studios of the Tanzquartier Wien. Based on the redefinition of concepts such as crisis, city, wild-life, success or intention, and motivated by every possible development of unmanageable conflicts, their work and research process is correspondingly freely accessible.
